Chess Commander is looking for alpha testers

Chess Commander is not ordinary chess.

The foundation is familiar: the same board, the same pieces, and the same core rules. But before the game begins, you get more freedom than in traditional chess. You can arrange your major pieces on the first row however you like. The second row of pawns stays exactly as it is in standard chess.

That one change transforms the game.

Instead of memorizing fixed openings, every match starts with a creative decision. Where do you place your king? How do you protect the center? Do you prepare for attack, defense, or controlled chaos?

Chess Commander is about improvisation, strategy, and creativity.

That is why we are looking for alpha testers.

We want to know how the game feels in real matches. Are the rules clear? Is the setup fun? Are some starting positions too strong? Does the pace feel right? Most importantly, does Chess Commander feel like a fresh and exciting chess variant?

You do not need to be a professional chess player. We are looking for different types of players, from casual players to experienced chess fans. Every player sees the game differently, and that feedback is valuable.

As an alpha tester, you will play an early version of Chess Commander and share short feedback afterwards. What worked well? What was unclear? Where did you get stuck? Which moments felt fun, tense, or frustrating?

Your feedback will help shape Chess Commander before it moves into the next stage of development.
